Store Your Treasures In Heaven! (Matthew 6:19-20)

According to the book of Joshua 1:8, meditating on the Word of God is a powerful key to success. As you meditate (ponder and contemplate) on the following scripture, personalise it and speak it forth into your life continually..

“Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moths and vermin destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moths and vermin do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal.” (Matthew 6:19-20)

Jesus shared this profound statement over 2000 years ago but today, as the banks of this world begin to collapse, the Lord’s wisdom remains as relevant as ever.  There are many things in this world that seek to eat away at or steal your money.  Taxes, debts, bills, inflation…are all some of the “moths and vermin” of our generation  The world teaches us to store as much as possible for a “rainy day” but God’s wisdom teaches differently.  Of course it’s good to save, but instead of storing up all of your treasures on earth, where they have a temporary value, store them up in heaven – by investing in the Kingdom of God through giving to goldly causes (Luke 12:33).

When you invest in heaven, you reap spiritual and material dividends that cannot be quantified.  Jesus promised a treasure in heaven that will never fail.   The Lord was showing us a spiritual principle which, if we put to work, will mean that we will be able to ride above the recessions and financial uncertainties of this world.  My own personal testimony is that this principle really works -over and beyond!  I’m convinced that if you consistently put this principle to work you will discover that the bank of Heaven really is the safest place to store your treasures.
